Custom Doors

Crafted for Everyday Use and Long-Term Performance

Front door to houseWhen you need something more than a standard door, we’re here to help. We design and build custom doors for homes, commercial spaces, and heritage properties, all tailored to suit the character of your project. Whether it’s a modern barn slider, a glazed entry door, or a traditional panelled style, every door we make is crafted to order using quality materials and solid joinery techniques.

With over 130 years of combined experience behind us, we understand the difference a well-made door can make — not just in how it looks, but how it feels to use every day.

Interior and Exterior Doors

We make a full range of doors to suit both interior and exterior applications. From solid timber front doors to internal sliders and pivot doors, each piece is built to match the space and function it’s designed for. We also build bi-folds, barn doors, and custom solutions for more challenging openings.

Our doors are made for real use — built to last, and built to look good doing it. Whether you’re updating a single door or planning a complete renovation or new build, we’ll work with you, your builder, or your architect to get the right fit.

Completely Custom Designs

Every door we build is made to order. There are no off-the-shelf templates — just your ideas, matched with our experience. Whether you’re after something bold and modern or a more traditional finish, we’ll design the door to suit your space, your style, and your budget.

We regularly work with homeowners, architects, and builders to create doors that are both functional and a feature in their own right. From unique timber grains to custom sizing and finishes, we make sure each detail fits the brief.

Craftsmanship and Materials

We work with solid timber, composite materials, and specialty finishes to give you the right combination of strength, style, and durability. Whether you’re after a natural timber look or a painted finish, we’ve got options to suit.

Our finishing choices include natural oils and waxes, two-pack paint systems, and clear coats in gloss, satin, or matte. We also use trusted hardware and fittings from suppliers like Blum, Hafele, Archant, Fit Ltd, and others — so the end result looks great and functions smoothly.

Heritage Door Restoration and Replication

We’ve restored and replicated many heritage doors over the years, helping clients preserve the character of older homes and buildings. Whether the original door is damaged, missing, or just needs updating, we can recreate the style with care and attention to detail.

From traditional timber mouldings to period-appropriate finishes and hardware, we make sure the new door fits seamlessly with the rest of the building. If you have something specific in mind — or just an old photo to work from — we’re happy to talk it through.

Glazing and Detailing

If you’re after a glazed door or decorative glass feature, we can take care of that too. We’ve worked with local glaziers to supply doors with clear, frosted, or patterned glass — whether it’s for extra light, privacy, or just the right look.

Glazing can be built into entry doors, interior sliders, or even heritage replicas. We’ll make sure the joinery and glass work together cleanly and securely, with the right detailing to match the style of your project.

Full Service: Design, Supply, and Installation

We take care of the whole process — from design through to installation. Whether you come to us with detailed plans or just a rough idea, we’ll work with you to bring it to life. We can coordinate directly with your builder or architect, or manage everything ourselves if you’re working independently.
Because we handle the joinery in-house, we have full control over the quality and timing. That means fewer delays, better communication, and a finished result that fits the space the way it should.

Service Area

We’re based in Northland and do most of our work locally, but we’re open to projects further afield. We’ve completed work as far south as Auckland for the right jobs — usually larger projects where custom joinery is a key part of the build or renovation.
If you’re outside Northland and wondering whether we’d take on your project, just get in touch with a few details. We’re happy to talk it through and see if it’s a good fit.
